Any type of paper and watercolor paints you have on hand will work. If you don’t have them at home, here are some inexpensive recommendations for supplies: 

• Low-cost, high-quality watercolor paper
• Nontoxic, watercolor paints
• Washable watercolor paints recommended for children under 5
